KAKKANAD: The Kacheripady Ayurveda hospital management committee cahired by District Panchayat president Eldhose Kunnappilly has decided to complete the renovation work of the hospital by floating a re-tender.The decision was taken after it was found that the contractor was delaying the work. The total estimated cost of the renovation was `2 crore, planned in three phases. But the contractor delayed the project.
“We have decided to blacklist the contractor,” said Eldhose Kunnappilly. The meeting also decided to improve facilities at the hospital. The maintenance works of septic tank and sewage lane would be carried out with immediate effect. Owing to this, IP facility will not be available from October 20 to 31 whereas the existing patients will be shifted to the adjacent ayurveda hospitals in the district. However, the outpatient section would function as usual.
“For the smooth functioning of the outpatient wing ready-made septic tanks will be installed. We will also start waste treatment plant in association with CREDAI. Apart from this, an incinerator will be installed to treat lab waste,” Eldhose said.He said a notice will be issued to the KMRL for encroaching on the land of Kacheripady Ayurveda hospital.
